Vintage schoolhouse crush.

My dining table is going to take a little longer before its ready to be revealed. While we wait, I thought I’d mention a style I’ve been crushing on for a little while now.  I think in the blogosphere it’s even gotten its own name “schoolhouse” style.

Think vintage oversized maps.

I hope to incorporate a bit of these details into my own home.  I think my little people will really enjoy it.

Do you have any items in your home that can relate to this style?

Until next time-

      1. Yes! I love what you’ve done to your cabinets. I was thinking of going all dark but my counters are a black granite and I don’t want to buy new ones. It’s not my dream kitchen, but I’m making it work. The upper cabinets are nicer than the lower. I think it would look nice either a dark gray or black in bottom and white on top. We shall see! πŸ™‚

      2. Or even a really light grey on top…I like having the white up top because it makes you feel like the room is brighter and more spacious. I actually on did it that way because I was afraid to see what my kids could do to white bottom cabinets. Haha! πŸ™‚ I’m sure you’ll rock whatever you decide to do!

      3. Too funny! I suppose in the end, it’s just paint, but I wouldn’t like to have to paint them again. Which is why I haven’t decided on what color. Ugh, the agony! Teehee πŸ˜‰
