My dining table is going to take a little longer before its ready to be revealed. While we wait, I thought I’d mention a style I’ve been crushing on for a little while now. I think in the blogosphere it’s even gotten its own name “schoolhouse” style.
Think vintage oversized maps.
Large chalkboards….
Collections of globes on display.
BHG
Funky pendant lighting.
Fun little banners for added decoration. AKAdesign
I hope to incorporate a bit of these details into my own home. I think my little people will really enjoy it.
Do you have any items in your home that can relate to this style?
Until next time-
Steph
You speak my design language! Love it all. In fact I am considering painting my kitchen cabinets like the one you have up. π

Which ones? The white and gray two toned? Those are mine! π I was going to go all white and changed it to the 2 toned last minute! I really like it.

Yes! I love what you’ve done to your cabinets. I was thinking of going all dark but my counters are a black granite and I don’t want to buy new ones. It’s not my dream kitchen, but I’m making it work. The upper cabinets are nicer than the lower. I think it would look nice either a dark gray or black in bottom and white on top. We shall see! π

Or even a really light grey on top…I like having the white up top because it makes you feel like the room is brighter and more spacious. I actually on did it that way because I was afraid to see what my kids could do to white bottom cabinets. Haha! π I’m sure you’ll rock whatever you decide to do!

Too funny! I suppose in the end, it’s just paint, but I wouldn’t like to have to paint them again. Which is why I haven’t decided on what color. Ugh, the agony! Teehee π

It IS agony sometimes trying to decide! That’s why I was just relieved to have made a decision! Lol

I love your style, and I love, love, love the vintage maps!! Where can I find the US one? I think I’d like to do something like that in our youngest son’s room… Thanks so much for sharing! π

Not 100% sure where that one came from. π I have seen a really large one at ikea recently.
Also, nationalgeographic.com sells them and etsy.com is always a go to place for me as well. Hope this helps!
